PT-141

PT-141, or Bremelanotide, is a peptide that can treat both men and women. In men, PT-141 peptide therapy can boost arousal and treat ED and premature ejaculation. For women, PT-141 is sometimes referred to as “female Viagra” as it is an effective alternative to Cialis and Viagra.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a peptide hormone that is secreted by the posterior pituitary. It is often known as the “love” hormone because it is released when one engages in any sort of physical or sexual contact. Sexual Dysfunction.

Who is affected by sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction affects men and women of any age. However, it’s more common in those over 40 because it’s often related to a decline in health associated with aging.

What are symptoms of sexual dysfunction in men?

The symptoms of sexual dysfunction in men include:

  • Inability to achieve or maintain an erection (hard penis) suitable for intercourse.
  • Absent or delayed ejaculation despite enough sexual stimulation.
  • Inability to control the timing of ejaculation.

What are symptoms of sexual dysfunction in women?

Symptoms of sexual dysfunction in women include:

  • Inability to achieve orgasm.
  • Inadequate vaginal lubrication before and during intercourse.
  • Inability to relax the vaginal muscles enough to allow intercourse.

What causes sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction can be caused by:

  • diabetes
  • heart and vascular (blood vessel) disease
  • neurological disorders
  • hormonal imbalances
  • chronic diseases such as kidney or liver failure, and alcoholism and drug abuse.

In addition, the side effects of some medications, including some antidepressant drugs, can affect sexual function.

Psychological causes of sexual dysfunction include:

  • work-related stress and anxiety
  • concern about sexual performance
  • marital or relationship problems
  • depression
  • feelings of guilt

Can sexual dysfunction be cured?

It depends on the underlying cause of the problem. The outlook is good if the cause for sexual dysfunction is related to a condition that can be treated or reversed.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Are hormones affecting your sex drive?

The answer is likely a resounding yes. That is to say, if you are enjoying a healthy sex drive or not, in most cases your hormones are in control and affect your sexual wellness. To illustrate, for some patients emotional and psychological factors play a role in sexual desire.

For both men and women, sex drive that has diminished with age, menopause, andropause, pregnancy, Low-T, and erectile dysfunction is likely linked to a hormonal issue. In fact, approximately 70 percent of low libido issues are related to a hormonal imbalance.

Despite this statistic, a low libido due to hormonal imbalance does not mean that you are helpless. In fact, you can take an active role in resetting your hormones to reclaim your sex drive.
